Pearl is quite simply Pearl. As a young chick growing up, she was often told she needed to be “a good, normal chicken.” This was usually followed by several sharp pecks on the top of her head.But Pearl always believed in herself, even when she had only one friend in all the world named Blanche who also believed in her. Pearl trusted her talents and knew that eventually she would be accepted along with her odd hats, costumes, and interesting objects collected on Trash Truck Tuesdays.

Pearl as a Southern Church Lady Chicken

Pearl has considered herself to be many things. One of her favorites has been a Southern Church Lady because Pearl loves making hats (and who knows more about wearing hats than a Southern Church Lady?).

Pearl as a Mystery Sleuth like Sherlock Holmes

Pearl has a very questioning mind, and so she enjoys solving a good mystery. As a Sleuth, she often needs to wear a disguise, and a disguise with a matching hat is just about her favorite of all!

Pearl as a Ninja Chicken fighting for what is true and right for chickens and people.

Although Pearl has never believed that problems are solved through violence, when she discovered that she could perform an incredibly strong Flying Ninja Kick, she did reconsider her stand when it comes to anyone and anything that treatens the lives of chickens or people.

Yes, working on three new books is rather ambitions, but you may remember how very stubborn and persistent My Girl Pearl can be! Once she has set her heart on a project, she will not rest until it is completed!
